A contract extension is at the horizon of Jose Mourinho and is well-deserved

Jose Mourinho has a contract with Chelsea that runs until 2017 but after the Portuguese manager lifted the Premier League title in a very convincing fashion, a contract extension is believed to be on the verge of being completed.

The season is still not over but Chelsea has already been crowned as the champions of England after managing to snatch 83 points in 35 matches, there is no way that any of the other remaining clubs of the league are able to catch up and this is a very impressive feat taking into consideration that Chelsea had not won the English League in over 5 years.

The return of Jose Mourinho has given Chelsea a breath of life, a new reason to aim for all the major titles and not only the Premier League. A contract extension for the Portuguese manager will put Chelsea into an even higher stage of Europe’s elite as Mourinho is just beginning as winning the Premier League for a 3rd time is not enough for him.

Mourinho is hungry for total success and he has all the tools needed to accomplish this mission.

After having won the Champions League with Porto and with Inter Milan, Mourinho is eager on lifting it once again but this time with Chelsea. Continue reading

Chelsea lost their 16 match unbeaten run after a 3-0 defeat

Chelsea lost their 16 match unbeaten run after a 3-0 defeat against West Brom, but it made little impact as they have already been crowned as the champions of England for a fifth time.

Jose Mourinho had led the team to another league title with three games to spare after the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace a couple of weeks ago. Since then, however, the desire to win matches appears to have dropped considerably within the Chelsea team. It has been told by the 1-1 draw with Liverpool last week and the 3-0 defeat against West Brom on Monday night.

Saido Berahino returned to form with two goals against the champions. Even though the result and the match amounted to little for Mourinho and his team, the Portuguese was not very happy after the match. He stated that the ideal situation is to win the Championship and go home. Yet, it has not been the case since Chelsea were allowed to win the title with three games to spare. Mourinho has blamed the competition for not putting up a fight. Manchester City were in the title race until February, but their pace has considerably dropped in the second half of the season. Diego Costa says that his teammates are going to remain calm

Chelsea striker Diego Costa says that his teammates are going to remain calm in the Premier League title race according to the instructions from manager Jose Mourinho. After having won league titles in four different European leagues, Mourinho is considered as one of the masters for winning league titles. His Chelsea team currently have a six-point advantage over Manchester City in the second spot along with a game in hand. This could potentially see them almost 10 points over the nearest competitor with just two months of legal action left.

At the start of the season, Chelsea captain John Terry revealed that the club had made it a priority to win the league title after having not won it since 2009-10. The early Champions League exit at the hands of Paris St Germain appears to have helped the club in this regard, while winning the Capital One Cup by beating Tottenham has also helped them take the pressure. For Manchester City and the chasing pack, the league title remains the only chance of glory this season. After struggling for form in the months of February, Costa is once again back scoring. He has found the back of the net in the last two league matches. Continue reading

Chelsea and PSG at Parc de Princes

The 1rst leg of the Champions League round of 16 battle between Chelsea and PSG has already taken place at the home turf of the French team at the Parc des Princes and the hugely important match finished off in a 1-1 draw but the scoreboard does not reflect what actually happened in the pitch as PSG dominated the match from start until the end.

After the match was over, statistic show that PSG enjoyed having 54% of possession which isn’t a very dominating percentage but the aspect of the game where Paris Saint-Germain was really efficient at was in the sheer amount of shots that were launched from the home team.

ThibautCourtois has once again turned into the hero for Chelsea as he had to be at his best in order to deny the opposition from scoring.

The impact that the Belgian goal-keeper has made upon arriving to Stamford Bridge is simply amazing as he has forced PetrCech on having to stay on the sidelines for the majority of the season. Continue reading

Luis Enrique dont think that he answered all Critics

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has dismissed suggestions that he has managed to overcome his critics after just one victory over Atletico Madrid.

The Catalan club managed a stunning 3-1 victory which seemed to favour the away team given that Barcelona had the best opportunities throughout the match. Their forward line up comprising of Neymar, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi all scored against Diego Simeone’s reigning champions.

This has helped take some pressure away fromEnrique. Barcelona have constantly been in the headlines for the last couple of weeks after they returned back from the winter break with a shock 1-0 defeat against Real Sociedad. Continue reading
