Chelsea’s Sandro Move Stalls

Chelsea’s move for Alex Sandro has stalled due to the heavy asking price by Juventus. Coach Antonio Conte is very much sold on the idea of having Sandro so the Serie A champs want big money for him. The Italian side told Chelsea an inflated asking price when they enquired about their player, with the hope that the Blues would make them a good offer. However, Conte and his team are quiet.

Chelsea are still in four competitions: the Champions League, where they would have to battle high flying Barcelona in the Round of 16; the Premier League, where they are looking for a top four finish preferably behind Manchester City; the EFL or Carabao Cup, where they play Arsenal over two legs in the semi-finals; and the FA Cup, where their second string side would have to see of Norwich in the replay. PREMIER LEAGUE IS TOUGH ADMITS CONTE

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that it is easier to retain a league title in Italy than in the Premier League. He said that the Serie A teams will not want to challenge his team for the title and will all sell their best players making it easier for him.

However, this is the case in the Premier League. He said that all the other teams have strengthened massively during the transfer window and are now serious threat to Chelsea’s title. Indeed both Manchester clubs have invested in new players and are currently top of the Premier League with the exact number of points.

Antonio Conte does not want sympathy from others

During the 2017 summer transfer window, Antonio Conte has released various players from the team out on loan deals and this is something that has turned into a big concern for different managers as the team of Conte will have much more matches to play due to their automatic qualification for the upcoming season of the UEFA Champions League.

Mario Pasalic, Jamal Blackman, Kurt Zouma, Tomas Kalas, Matt Miazga, Michael Hector, Tammy Abraham, Ola Aina Ruben Loftus-Cheek are the players that at the time of writing this article, have left on loan deals.

There have also been some notable departures from the English Premier League club including: Juan Cuadrado, Asmir Begovic and Nemanja Matic.

This is a significant amount of players that have made their way out of Stamford Bridge and other managers have voiced their thoughts saying that it might not be such a good idea for Antonio Conte to do this, especially considering the busy season that lies ahead of Chelsea.

The 48 year old Italian manager of Chelsea Antonio Conte has recently emerged and responded by saying: Continue reading

SOUTHGATE NEEDS A CAPABLE MIDFIELD

Few years after the golden generation of John Terry, Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes retired and left behind unfulfilled collective potentials at the international, Gareth Southgate’s current side appear not to be faring better either.

On the back of the disappointing Euro 2012 overseen by Roy Hogdson, Sam Allardyce’s scandal-terminated run and Southgate’s takeover, the Three Lions appear to be different from the so called golden generation in terms of personnel and at the same time mirror challenges that befell such era.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney remains the last piece of leftover from star studded era. An era that saw a group of talented English professionals thrive seamlessly at club level yet struggled to gel together once converged for a major tournament.

Since taking over mid last year the 46-year old has managed to forge a new identity on the Three Lions and although they have managed to pick up decent results in their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign, the perennial inability to measure up to the A-grade teams of Europe and the rest of the world persists. CONTE MEETS ABRAMOVICH OVER CONTRACT AND TRANSFERS

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly met with the club owner Roman Abramovich over several issues.

The unsettled manager had asked to have a tete-a-tete with the Russian billionaire and he finally got his request.

The squad had failed to match expectations the previous season but the tactical switch Conte implemented saw the team drive all the way to the finish line, lifting the Premier League for the second time in three years and in the Italian’s debut term. Conte is faced with managerial options back in Italy or with replicating the results in his second term, while leading the team to Europe – where his personal coaching record is not as impressive.

Conte had concerns about his new contract, the club’s transfer policies and some other issues that needed him to thrash out with the ownerwho is active in the club’s affairs. Continue reading

Antonio Conte is aiming to get Chelsea back into the Champions League

The first and only time that Chelsea has ever managed to win the Champions League title was during the 2011-12 season when the Premier League club defeated Bayern Munich in the finals in a penalty session which was played on May 19 of 2012.

This historic accomplishment was made when Chelsea was under the guidance of Roberto Di Matteo and no other manager in the history of the Premier League club has managed to reach this feat.

However, this might be changing in the near future as Antonio Conte wants to help Chelsea in snatching the prestigious title back into the hands of the English club as the Italian manager said:

‘’A great team and a great club like Chelsea has to play in the Champions League every season,It is important for us. The Champions League has to be our house to stay’’

“It’s important to think now about this season and go step by step.We have 12 league games till the end of the season to try to reach a dream for me, for the players and for the club. Then we will prepare for next season but when your name is Chelsea, you must always fight to win the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup, all the competitions.” Continue reading

COSTA DROPPED AFTER DISPUTE OVER FITNESS WITH COACH

Spain international Diego Costa won’t be facing Leicester alongside Chelsea squad on Saturday after a dispute with his coach over his fitness.

The striker has not undergone any training this week and also failed to travel for the Premier League leader’s match with the defending champions.

Costa, 28, with 14 goals and 5 assists this season has an offer to move to China worth £30m a year. Chelsea refused to respond to the comment due to reasons unknown. CHELSEA PLAN FOR FORTHCOMING SEASON

English Premier League giant Chelsea are already planning for the forthcoming season.

The club reportedly wants to bring Radja Nainggolan to Stamford Bridge at all costs despite losing out this season. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Blues also want Roma’s Kostas Manolas next summer. The report claims that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is a big fan of the pair and really wants them to join his squad next season.

Nainggolan stats are one of the reasons any top side would want him. According to OptaPaolo, the player has “made the most recoveries over the last 5 Serie A campaigns (1325) among outfield players.” After Roma tied down Nainggolan for a long term this summer, it would cost Chelsea a lot to meet his release clause. However, the Giallorossi have angered the player, as he did not get the promised pay rise despite tying him until 2020.

On the other hand, the club is hesitant in meeting Manolas’ £2.58 million annual salary in a new deal. This might push the player Chelsea’s way. With the form and stability in the Chelsea team, Conte would want the tireless players to contribute next season. Nainggolan would surely provide competition for Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante though their partnership has been very rewarding of late.

Though Manolas remains a target for Man United, Chelsea are keen in getting the player in a bid to improve defensive options. Kurt Zouma’s return is being awaited, but with Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry possibly following John Obi Mikel out off the team at the end of the season, then Manolas would be a good option. The Greek player is one of the most reliable players at the back in the Serie A. Both players still have enough time on their current contracts but Chelsea would be hoping to lure the players at the end of the current season.

CHELSEA IS NOW CONFIDENT

The man in charge of the managerial job in Stamford Bridge Antonio Conte praised his team for delivering a “perfect game” as they defeated Southampton 2-0 on Sunday.

A goal each in the two halves from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa respectively secured the Blues their fourth win and a clean sheet in as many games in the Premier League and moved them to a point difference compared with the table leaders, Manchester City. Continue reading
